Las Vegas: Guardian Angel Cathedral

This shot of the Guadian Angel Cathedral was taken at dusk, when the pink sunset provided a nice contrast with the blue mosaics. On the front facade, a Guardian Angel hovers over the three figures of Penance, Prayer and Peace.

Part of the Diocese and Parish of Las Vegas, this 1963 shrine attained Cathedral status in 1976. Now the strip has grown around it, with an extension to the Wynn in the works that may cut it off from the street entirely.
