Today's free-pizza event was a presentation by the MSN Search team, which is hard at work at besting Google at their own game. They freely admit they've got more work to do, but they also have some neat products coming out such as Virtual Earth. The latter is sort of like the Win32-only Google Earth, but minus the 3d zooming. The advantage is it's all online, no downloadable app. Here's a direct link to the Starbucks near my old apartment -- notice how you can zoom south and see more search results pop up as you do so.
