Igreja de São Francisco de Assis
Igreja de São Francisco de Assis, designed by Antônio Francisco Lisboa (Aleijadinho) in 1766. One of the most accomplished Baroque sculptors, Aleijandinho suffered from a disease, perhaps leprosy, which forced him to strap hammer and chisel to his wrists rather than manipulate them directly with his hands.
