Uppsala Gospel Festival 2007

Peter Ekengren

Peter Ekengren (above) and Arvid Nerdal, two famous figures in Uppsala's music scene, brought together nearly 100 choir singers this weekend to learn six songs in about ten hours, culminating in a gospel concert Sunday night. We only had 3 guys total for the Tenors, so we added in a bunch of women including Maria and Ellenore from my literature class. Doreen, who lives in my apartment building, stood next to us in the Alto section.

Here's a short mixture of footage shot by some of my friends in the audience. Some of the pieces we did include Donnie McClurkin's Holy and Kirk Franklin's When I Get There.
