Tonight was a reception for guest researchers at the University's main 19th-century building. I took advantage of everyone being at the hors d’Å“uvre buffet to take this picture of the Chancellor’s Reception Room:
The interior of Universitetshuset boasts Sweden's 2nd-largest art collection, but that figure is somewhat inflated by an inordinate number of portraits of minor 18th-century theologians. You'll find some hidden gems, however, including ecumenicalist and Nobel prize-winner Nathan Söderblom, Carl von Linné, and Dag Hammarskjöld. And who could forget Gustav IV Adolf, the Chancellor who just happened to also be the King who lost Finland?
