Arvtant

Listening to Swedish Radio archives while at work, I came across a program called Tjugo frågor (Twenty Questions) led by Per-Martin Hamberg. The recording must be from the '50s or '60s. It's a kind of guessing-game where the panelists compete to find out a phrase or word.

The secret word today was arvtant, which, according to the definition on the site linked above, means "An older female relative not in your immediate family (an Aunt, for example), from whom one expects an inheritance when she dies, and towards whom one is therefore perhaps a little extra polite."
