Zoids Gorem

gorem-thumb.jpgMy order for Zoids Gorem just shipped from Japan. This was one of the rarer Zoids in the 1980's, a 1/24-scale model of a white gorilla. It's being re-issued by Tomy, the original manufacturer, which must tick off the collectors who have been paying $500 and up for MISB (mint-in-sealed-box) specimens.

The name "Gorem" is acutally a Japanese pronunciation of Golem, the legendary Jewish monster created out of clay.

(Although Hasbro is currently importing a few Zoids for the domestic market, the most original and interesting designs are still Japan-only for now.)
